On Sunday, my Adventuremice co-author
Philip Reeve and I were to be found in Bath, decorating the windows of
Mr B's Emporium of Reading Delights.
We were given quite a wide expanse to draw on, and we were pleased with how it went! (Look at that lovely display of Adventuremice books on the right!)
We were then joined by several families for storytime and drawing, and we were thrilled to discover that several of them were Reeve & McIntyre super-fans! Here they are with their drawings of Pedro.
Here's one excellent super-fan, who brought in the cardboard Kevin that he'd made for his World Book Day Costume, plus some Kevin fan fiction that he'd been writing and illustrating. It was utterly heartwarming to see him engaging so intensely with the stories we'd created.
Here you can see Max's tower block in Bumbleford, on the stormy night when Kevin got blown our of the Outermost West and crashed into his balcony.
If you missed the event, you can still pop into Mr B's to get signed books (and check out our window)! And we have lots more
fun activities on our Adventuremice.com website.
Huge thanks to Hannah and Katrina who looked after us, and Liv who popped along to help take photos at the end! Hannah found us the most amazing white-chocolate-centred cookies from
Daisy & Bean Bakeshop that we must seek out the next time we visit.
Oh, and we also decorated a certain bench, that you can spot on your next visit!
And one more pic from Bath, just because it made us laugh, Philip's new album cover:
