Adventuremice: Mermouse Mystery launches today!
Exciting, the second book of our Reeve & McIntyre series launches today, Adventuremice: Mermouse Mystery! As you might have noticed from some of my other books (Grumpycorn, Oliver and the Seawigs, etc), I have a bit of a thing for mermaids. So I was glad the mice could get a chance to encounter their own mini magical kingdom!
This morning my co-author Philip Reeve and I signed a bunch of books for Nigel and Lou at East Gate Bookshop in Totnes and had a celebratory brunch. (Do pop in if you'd like one!)
And this evening, at 9pm, my husband Stuart and I will be releasing a new series of original ink and watercolour painted illustrations at the Adventuremice online shop. (So get in quick if you're keen to have the widest selection!)
We have lots of new activities on the Adventuremice.com website, including draw-alongs, fun activities, and a special new Teacher Pack for schools. Thanks to Dan Fone for designing the website and making it all happen!
And a big thank you to our team at David Fickling Books for all their hard work: our editor Liz Cross, designer Ness Wood, assistant editor Meggie Dennis, foreign rights assistant Bronwen Bennie (yes, my family, it will be coming out soon in the USA!), Phil Earle on Sales (excellent author in his own right!), Fraser Hutchinson and Liz Scott in publicity, and Rosie Fickling, Anthony Hinton in the office and, of course, my very first UK publisher, David Fickling. Big thanks to our amazing agents Jodie Hodges (my agent at United Agents) and Philippa Milnes-Smith (Philip's agent at The Soho Agency. And to arts centre Bovey Paradiso, who have given me a studio to work on the next one! (Actually, the one after the next one, we've finished Book 3 already, which comes out this September!)
Our next event is THIS SUNDAY in Bath, at Mr B's Emporium at 2pm - book here! - then we'll be signing books at Max Minerva's in Bristol on Monday, in tandem with a school visit, so you can pop by there and get signed books.
