Mmmmm....chocolate

"We as black people, it’s time, it’s time for us to come together. It’s time for us to rebuild a New Orleans, the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans and I don’t care what people are saying uptown or wherever they are, this city will be chocolate at the end of the day."

Ray Nagin, Mayor of New Orleans in a speech given on MLK Day

This is what I have to put up with.  This is the state I live in.  These are the people who I call "neighbor."  Didn't you see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Mr. Nagin?  Don't you understand the foolishness of a city made of chocolate?  And what about Mardi Gras?  Do you realize how much more perverted it will get down there if there is a readily available source of chocolate for women to cover their breasts with?  You'll have a celebration that is:

30% drunken women with chocolate covering their cleavage.

30% Girls Gone Wild cameramen.

30% Drunken men shouting "YEAAAAAAAH!" and "WOOOOOOO!"

10% Lifeforms composed entirely of plastic beads and used condoms which crawled from the murky depths of the New Orleans sewer system.

Is that what you really want Mayor Nagin?  Of course not,  I know you didn't mean it like that.  You weren't being silly, like I am.  You were just struck by a moment of extreme stupidity, something which seems to happen a great deal.  At least you did turn around and apologize the very next day for your comments.  Please try to do better next time you open your mouth.  As bad as things are in Louisiana I'm at least happy.  Why? Because I'm not still living in Texas.
