Chick with a Stick

Well today was match day for lacrosse. A proper match to, this time for ULU womens against Cambridge. ULU are a premier league team, and have two keepers, so I only get to play half a match, but sometimes I play the other half in attack, which is fun. It was a very close game, which we ended up losing 11-9...rather dissappointing. But we have a social with the men's team tonight...a 3 legged pub crawl...should be fun! I'll let you know!

So what is this lacrosse thing anyway? It's my sport! I started playing when I was 11, at my high school - Alice Ottley, in Worcester. I was put in goal in my first practise, apparently because I have fast reactions (but I reckon I was chosen because I was a chubby kid) and fell in love with the game. I'm not too bad at it either. I played for county since I was 15, and regional reserves two seasons ago. I also trained with potential England players for a while through a programme called CENTEX, which I really enjoyed. But now I am no longer a junior, so the competition is a lot feircer. I have regional trials (for South) this weekend, so we'll just see how they go! I am going up against the Cambridge goalie, who is rather good and played junior England last season. Wish me luck! I might make reserves!!! Maybe! Ha!
