We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

I am ridiculously proud to live in the United States of America. Wouldn't give up my citizenship if you begged me or paid me millions of dollars--it's truly the best place in the world to belong, at least to my mind. :)

What the hell?

It’s hard to believe, but true: under a law Congress passed last year aimed at regulating hazards in children’s products, the federal government has now advised that children’s books published before 1985 should not be considered safe and may in many cases be unlawful to sell or distribute.Has anyone heard anything else about this ( Read more... )

I realize that some other countries do not have mail delivery on Saturday. However, we in the good ol' US of A are accustomed to that. It's been mandatory since 1983.

Today, we discover that because of the financial crisis, we may be down to 5 days a week of delivery...huh ( Read more... )

I really am proud to be an American.

I love our history, our ambitions, the ideals that we strive for (even when we miss the mark), and the freedoms we enjoy and want to make sure others can enjoy.

I wouldn't trade my citizenship here for anywhere else.
