I did go and see Battle: Los Angeles and it was exactly as advertised - fairly mindless violence and scifi apocalypse. It was...OK.
Afterward I stopped by World market for a leisurely hour of meandering. I love WM. It's what Pier One used to be way back in the day before it became totally yuppified. I tried to talk myself out of it but I couldn't stop myself from buying a
tagine because it was only $20 and I've wanted one for a long time. This weekend I'm going to make a fresh batch of
preserved lemons. Strangely enough my first use won't be a Moroccan tagine but an old recipe I think I got from The Joy of Cooking - Spanish Chicken. Chicken browned in olive oil and butter then smoothered in a sauce made in the pan (minus the oil) with chopped tomatoes, onions, carrots, garlic, mushrooms and black olives, oregano and thyme. Then you bake it slow until the meat falls off the bones and serve over rice. Excellent! I haven't made it in years.
I also picked up a quart of Italian Olive oil for $7 - pretty damn good price.
Irritatingly - for some reason Prison Break 2x18 and 2x19 have been been yanked from all of the 'watch it streaming' sites that I can see. Really strange since none of the others have. I'll just have to make do with reading a synopsis of those eps. >:
