Guess what? I was happier this past week then I have been in so long. Why? Many reasons. Andy's home, and all the things we did together this past week were amazing. We've been able to check off a lot of the things on our list, though there's still plenty left over for this week. Some of my favorites...tide pooling at the beach, introducing BOTH pat and andy to flatbreads and its wonderfulness, then coldstone afterwards. All of saturday: the river by my house, the adventures in the swamp, the river by his house and how I've fallen in love with his woods, climbing down that steep steep hill and finding a road and not knowing where we were until he figured it out! Going bowling in the afternoon - the first time for me since I was three or four, and the tips and the cheering from pat and andy. Saturday night with the chicken pot pie, brownies and ice-cream and the very strange reunion in double feature when we rented sahara. Basically any time I get to spend with him is a wonderful time. Oh, and I'm an EIFJ. 'Nuff said.
Another reason I'm happy...I adore my friends. Each and every one of them. I don't realize often enough how blessed I am to know them.
Yesterday with M.K. and Kate, and the talk on the car ride back. We talked of many things, but one thing I said was that in my Senior year I'm trying to live each day in the present, and, although I think about my future, I'm trying to live this time to the fullest. Things are going to change next year, so I need to enjoy each and every one of these relationships. No need to jump the gun or false start. We'll be gone soon enough.
Another thing...it has been said that people come into our lives for a reason, bringing something we must learn, and we are led to those who help us most to grow, if we let them, and we help them in return, well I don't know if I believe that's true, but I know I'm who I am today, because I knew you.
Those words ring true today more then ever.
So I'm happy. It's good to be happy. I hope it stays that way, and thank you to Andy and my friends for making it so!
