It takes a good, Christian belief set to prevent divorce. At least that's what they tell us. Oops. An article in Salon points to a study showing that atheists have a lower incidence of divorce than religious Christians. Heh.

Went to the motorcycle store today and had heated hand grips installed. It was after a conference call and I hadn't had lunch. They pointed me to a small diner just around the corner. The Ruben was great and cheap. Heated grips, nice lunch, yumm to both. Happy camper.

After six months of lazing, I accepted a position today. Only two things I'll really miss about unemployment: The time to read lots of books and taking afternoon cat naps with my cats. The job's a good opportunity. Sadly, it's still local and not back on the West Coast, but I'll survive.

Gorgeous morning, first I took the motorcycle 15 miles up to the Aldi to get chocolate (and a few other things, but that was primary). The claim of Suzuki is I have to keep it under 4k rpm, that that's 35 mph and impossible. We got a short but strong storm last night. A little after 7pm, the power died. I found my candles. I couldn't find matches. I found my mini-flashlight, but the batteries are old. I got my rechargeables out, but it seems like newer AA rechargeables are thicker than standard AA's, they wouldn't fit in the flashlight. I waited thirty minutes, no ( Read more... )

Went up to a little Blues BBQ festival, only a few years old, run by a nearby Lions Club. The first band was good, the second not as good and got to tired to listen to the third.
