So far, my new year has involved a headache that feels like a hangover, only I didn't touch alcohol in the least last night, s'mores for breakfast, watching most of Airplane on Comedy Central, and now I'm contently watching Ghost Busters. Actually, the headache is starting to let up a bit since I took an Excedrin, so maybe this will be a good morning after all. I mean, I'm still in my pajamas and I'm hanging with Pete and Dan, so it's all good, right?
Well, I guess it's time to list my resolutions for this year right? A list of 10, here we go!
- I may have posted this before, but that only shows that this is something I do want to accomplish. I was to finish my first script for Lore. God willing, I'll actually finish it all together and start looking for an agent.
- I will with Script Frenzy and NaNoWriMo this year with my new writing group in DeKalb.
- I want to read a book a month. I've really gotten back into some of my books and I'm taken to the DeKalb Public Library like a second home. I've finished three books in the past month, so I think doing one per month while writing and taking care of other stuff is a pretty decent goal.
- I want/need to go back to school. As soon as I get a job, I will be fine with being a civil worker for the moment, but I don't want to stay there forever. I want to be a teacher and a writer. I want to mold minds for a living. But to do that, I need to get back in the classroom first. I think I'll tour Northern Illinois University as soon as Peter and I are married. Speaking of which...
- Marry my college sweetheart, have a wonderful wedding, and be happy in our new marriage.
- Travel someplace new and amazing on our honeymoon. I really, really hope that it's New Orleans.
- Get out of the whole with money. Right now this is more of the economy's fault right now, but I'm determined to be efficient, balanced, and out of the red!
- I really want to re-learn French again. I mean, I took it for four years in high school, and I have the free time now, so why not? Might as well re-educate myself. It might help me get a job sooner.
- I guess I should put keeping my Crohn's disease in check again this year. I did well with this in 2009. Didn't nearly have so many down days and my doctor's only diagnosed me with one flare up, and I didn't even bleed.
- And to add to that, I'm going to get in shape, work out, et cetera, et cetera...hey, I did very well with this until we moved to Illinois! I miss Planet Fitness. I just wish there was one that was closer than Naperville. But I have some hand weights here, a yoga mat and ball, and plenty of space to run in. I can get in shape if I wanted to, and I do!
Happy 2010 everyone! Here's hoping it's a great new decade for all of us!
