the wedding saga continues...

I made an appointment at David's Bridal waaaay back in January. That was exciting, and a bit nerve-wracking. The lady was nice, but a little bit weird, in that "I don't understand your youthful non-traditionalism" way. I originally had my heart set on a tea length lace dress (like this or this) and was so confident it would be awesome, I was more than a little nonplussed when it made me look like a cake topper with stubby legs. :-( So, she brought in a few longer choices. (I had never been dressed by a stranger, so I was glad that wasn't a no-underpants day. lol.) The only non-frilly long option I was presented with was all right... the lady said something like "it makes you look like a woman and it slims your waist."(what does that even mean? Do I look like a fat man otherwise?) But, I wasn't sure if it was the estrogen-rich air in the salon talking or not, plus it was all waaay more $$ than I wanted to spend on a one-time dress, so I said some nice non-committal things, took the printout, and ran like mad.
I ended up getting my wedding dress at Class Bridal on 24th, just north of lindsey. They are primarily a dance store, and they are clearancing out all of their bridal stuff. So, I got a good dress and a veil (which, honestly, I'm not sure if I want to wear it or not. it's cute, but I'm not sure if a foofoo veil goes with my "vision") for less than $250. It needs to be altered so the straps will stay up and the hem won't drag all over the place.
As far as shoes go, I want to wear as little shoe as necessary for the ceremony, which will in 99% certainty be outdoors. So, not wanting to sink a heel into mud, I got a pair of sparkly flip-flops. They look all right. Nobody will see my shoes anyway.
