bridal fair

Awhile back, my mom wanted to take me to a bridal fair. So, I found one that would be in the area and bought tickets for everyone (mom, dad, me, Clint, and his mom).
We went (it ended up being on my birthday) and collected a huge shopping bag full of stuff. Flyers, business cards, brochures, swag of various types, candy... Meanwhile, Clint is getting a bit overstimulated by the whole experience. It doesn't help that he is one of about a handful of grooms present, as evidenced by the sparse bunch of "woo"s in response to "Where are the grooms?" during the q&a and fashion show.
So, I spent the fashion show trying to explain to him that this was just a gathering mission. Me showing interest to the various vendors wasn't commitment to anything. He seemed to calm down a little, enough to giggle at some of the hideous stuff flying by on the runway. On the way home, he rode with the moms and tried to freak out there. They did a marvelous job of explaining how the best bargain-hunting team on the planet was planning this thing, and basically all he has to do is say "I like it" or "I don't like it" and that this wasn't going to be just us buying all the stuff. Thanks, moms. :-D
