venue issues.
We are planning on getting married at a Girl Scout camp I attended as a kid. Originally, I was led to believe that this is an easy thing to do; just call the council office, tell them you want to borrow the camp, give them a few benjamins as a thanks, and you're good. Of course, nothing is ever that easy. I have been trying to get this stuff going since February. To top it all off, just as I was getting somewhere with the lady I had been dealing with, the council merged with a neighboring council and the lady I had been dealing with magically no longer works for them. Essentially, back to square one. I scrambled to pick up the pieces, and called to make sure my date hasn't been gobbled up in the process. Miraculously, it hadn't, but there was more to it than fill out the form and send in the benjamins. It turns out that I will need to take out a $1M liability policy(let's hope that isn't too expensive for 3 days), since this isn't technically a Scouting event. If it were, it would fall under a nationwide policy that GSUSA has. But, I'm not affiliated with a troop. So, we'll see where this goes. * crosses fingers and toes *
