Last night we watched the last two episodes of S2 of Battlestar Galactica! And...wow, shake things up, much? Actually, I'm kind of pleased, because the progressive story-telling arc seemed to be getting bogged down into more of a random-episode thing, which I'm much less interested in. But the story has a bit of a feel of "okay, we're set for another season, so let's go off on a tangent to avoid finishing what we started" to me, maybe because WTF, a year passes between the events of those last two episodes.

Anyway, still enjoying, although ( skip spoiler) they killed Billy, augh!!! That made me saddest of all. Also, I still hate Ellen Tigh the most, though Baltar's getting awfully close in the Characters I Hate ranking.

As far as my reading goes, I am so far behind on my Goodreads reviews! But I read The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater, wthe second (and currently last) book in her Raven Cycle. So if someone writes my request for this series for Yuletide I am ready! I liked it perhaps not quite so much as the first book - like BSG, it suffered from some odd tangents that felt like filler to me - but I still really enjoyed it.

I also am up to Summer of the Danes in the Cadfael Chronicles, though I had to skip The Heretic's Apprentice as I couldn't get it through my usual channels. I have put in an interlibrary loan request. Hopefully it won't be such a big deal to read it out of order. I'm sad that I'm almost done...but there are 11 Cadfael stories at AO3, and maybe there will be more for Yuletide!

Speaking of Yuletide, I have...opened a document! And there are words in it. They might not be the same words that end up being in the story, but there is a start, anyway. I have four or five ideas, and I would like to get several of them into the story, but trying to fit them all together is proving difficult.

Also speaking of Yuletide, a reminder to all who might read this: if I 'know' you in any way - if you're on my flist, or if you have commented here or responded to me in communities we're both in, or commented on my stories - I will be happy to beta-read your Yuletide story of any length if it's a fandom I know. I will also beta-read your stories in fandoms I'm unfamiliar with if they are fairly short (under 4000-ish words, not a strict limit) and not entirely dependent on specific fandom knowledge. I prefer you send me a .doc or .docx file, .rtf as a second choice, and I can handle .txt or Google Drive. My email is isiscolo@gmail.com.

Also posted on Dreamwidth where there are
