Ryan and Jake's love journey: day 2

Nov 19, 2006 05:00

Rolled out of bed at about 11:00 this morning. I must say, getting to sleep last night was a little tough due to the fact that i was scared shitless that a spider was going to crawl down my throat in my sleep.

side note: i hope that i can finish this post without popup ads driving me to the brink of insanity.

We rolled down to this pizza joint called "Lance's Pizza." It was definitely worth it. Pappy tells of a dilapidated old house that's caved in at some parts and looks really scary. This quickly gets shuffled to the back of my mind while we enjoy some of the most delicious pizza on god's green pastures.

Pizza: devoured. Time to head back to Pappy's. Little xaeden is a true gentleman. He just doesn't fuss much. We hung out at Pappy's for about two hours while we played video games and talked. You know, I'm starting to think that these kids have the right idea. At one point, I just didn't think that packing up shop and moving out to the middle of nowhere was a horrible idea. On many levels, i still do. But honestly, the cost of living out here is so low that it almost seems like an awesome way to live. They pay almost nothing for their place and Pappy makes decent money working at a call center. They live about a half hour from a town that rivals Bloomington in size and density called "Clarksville."

So, after video-gaming it up, we head to clarksville. It's about 5:00. First destination: Best Buy. I wanted to see if they were doing a midnight event for the Wii. They aren't. I was this close to buying one. I have the money. It just wouldn't be wise. I'd probably pay for it in the future. We walk around Best Buy for about an hour. Jake gets a couple of older movies. Mary is a "sick puppy."

We then head to the mall. By the way Pappy, the Target isn't connected. We do the usual mall stuff. First stop is this awesome asian store. Picked up a gift for mah special lady. Dude, they had some weapons in this store that you just wouldn't even believe. I'm talking swords, nunchucks, bo staffs, shit that i've never even seen, they even had wolverine claws. The video game stores in this mall were the same as every other Gamestop/EB Games. I got to actually play Excite Truck for the wii. amazing. You drive this truck and turn the controller like a steering wheel to steer. It's going to be sweet.

This is basically the highlite of the mall trip. We eat some icecream and do a picture booth. little xaeden has a face for the camera. That's for damn sure. He has now been officially licked by myself, jake, and pappy. I'm not sure about Mary, but I wouldn't put it past her. We hung out in Borders until they closed. I bought a sushi kit.

This is where it gets interesting. We come back to Pappy's palace and decide that we want to go explore some of the run down structures around Bumpus Mills. We first headed out to that house by Lance's Pizza. AWESOME idea!! This whole place looked like something out of Resident Evil. It was quite an experience. Aside from turning off the flaslight every 25 seconds to hide from cars, this was really creepy. The floor was all caved in and you could see straight into the basement. We walded all the way around that bitch, but noone went in. We didn't want to see that whole damned hous cave in. Pappy then informs us of an abandoned trailer court. He captures our interest by using words like "ghost town," and "scary as shit," to coax us into checking it out. Go down in there and find some of the creepiest trailers you'll ever see. We decide to go in a couple of them. It kind of makes you wonder, "why would an entire community of people just decide to pack up and move out at the same time?" There was about the same amount of old shit in each trailer. You know, washers, dryers, clothes, toys, glass, cookie jars full of plastic houses, and a Harley Davidson flag hanging up in the trees. I'll post pictures sometime in the next couple of days.

Day 2: in the books. I'm about to turn in. Jake is already out. Pappy is playing Final Fantagay 12. I wish i'd bought a Wii. Life goes on. I miss Candace like you wouldn't believe. It kind of sucks having every fun thing that i do be bastardized by thinking of how much better it would be if she were here. I guess she hung out with sarah and actually enjoyed it. You see, dear? Not all children were bred by Satan himself and programmed to cause you personal pain and anguish.
