Two scenes from The Life of Iseult Variante

May 18, 2007 09:43

Scene 1:

The scene opens on Our Heroine, standing triumphant with her sexy boot on the neck of the defeated School. Off to the side stands the always attractive Social Life, looking fairly sated.

Iseult: HA, BOTH PAPERS DONE, BIATCH.

School: *sighs* FINE, you've finished those. But that's not all I've got! You have a conference next month--!

Iseult: *stomps on School's neck before retreating with her hands over her ears* La la la, I'm not liiiiistening!

Social Life: *pouts attractively*

Scene 2:

Iseult returns to her Luxurious Apartment.

Housework: Well, there you are.

Livejournal: *skip=amillionty*

Fandom: You do realize that there are episodes and episodes of Supernatural that you haven't seen yet? *dangles Winchesters enticingly* And you have so much Heroes meta that you want to talk about! And fics to finish, and vidding to learn...

Iseult: ... screw you guys, I'm going to Toronto. *flees*

... or something like that, anyway. I owe comments and replies and things, and cincodemaygirl, I promise that I will do a more detailed school update soon! It is heartening to remember that people think that grad school in social psych is interesting, rather than monstrous. ;)

I have managed to watch Heroes, though:

Oh, I say that like I have coherent thoughts. That is a dirty, dirty LIE. ALL I HAVE IS CAPSLOCKS AND FLAILING, PEOPLE. Some random thoughts in a numbered list:
  1. Hiro calling Nathan a villan was so terrible. GAH. I don't know why that hurt me so, but it did. It was like telling someone there was no Santa. :(
  2. ANDO OH NOES. *bites nails*
  3. Audrey, yay! I hope you get to kick some Sylar ass before Peter and/or Hiro fights him.
  4. Mr. Claremont? Did I hear that right, the guy at the sword shop was Mr. Claremont? Oh, my comics-geeky heart is happy.
  5. I am confused about Candice... I like the idea that we have no idea what she really looks like, but if, as Micah says, her power is illusions, rather than shapeshifting (This makes sense to me based on how she hid Simone's body as well as taking her shape, or her threat, that she would make Micah "see things" that would mess him up.) then she would still occupy the same physical space, right? Like Claude and Peter do when they're invisible? (Huh. I wonder if Claude and Candice are related.) So the whole thing about her being really overweight seems odd. As opposed to if she were a shapeshifter, and so could alter her mass and shape. Hm.
  6. I am also confused about Niki and Jessica. Are we all agreed that Jessica isn't the result of a multiple personality disorder, but is actually a manifestation of Niki's dead sister? In that case, the idea that Niki could integrate Jessica doesn't really make sense to me the way it would if Niki and Jessica were both aspects of a single entity. Also, whose power is whose, is that settled? I feel vaguely behind the curve. I think I lean towards the idea that Jessica had some kind of power that allowed her to jump her consciousness into Niki, and to control Niki, where Niki's power is the super-strength. Niki, for whatever reason, has trouble consciously accessing her power, where Jessica can use it via Niki just fine. I just think it would be cool if Jessica, at some point, jumps into another body. Like, say, Sylar. THAT WOULD BE SO COOL.
  7. Nooo, Ted! *lights tiny, radioactive candle*
  8. I am so afraid of the way the Molly Walker situation is going to play out. NONE OF THOSE PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO DIE.
  9. ... will you all defriend me if I thought Sylar's "Boom." thing at the end was kind of creepy-hot, not just creepy? Yeah? Um. Then it totally wasn't hot. Not at all.
  10. So Linderman's dead, yeah? Like, I presume that he can't heal himself, that seems like it would break the rules of superpowers (upheld when Peter couldn't heal Simone). Ergo, the future is different, now? Otherwise I can't figure out why the rounding-up-the-Heroes-Act would be the Linderman Act... ?

But yes, I need to finish packing. In conclusion: CAPSFLAIL, OMG.

Oh, also, Ugly Betty, really quickly:

So I was clearly wrong about the whole placebo thing. But I cannot be unhappy about anything that gave us manic!Daniel, who is kind of hilarious. Although, eep, thugs!

I really do love Alexis, in spite of how mean she is to Daniel. The bit where she backed back into the elevator with Mr. Wolf? I laughed and laughed.

And Marc and Amanda are my new BFF OTP. *happy clapping*

But for now, I am heading chez starfishchick, yay! listersgirl, I have baaaaagels! ;) Have a good weekend, everyone!
