Pope Emeritus Benedict died. Woke up to the news this AM on twitter. Got up and did my Morning prayers... Went down to eat. Told Mom. She wasn't aware he was sick. I said the Church had been praying for him for 2 days at least. I did post on my "secret" instagram a pic I took of a poster in Italy after his election saying "Santo subito! Doctor of the Church!" I mean... Not sure if he's destined for sainthood, but I'm not sure you can be a Doctor of the Church without sainthood? But yeah... He was known to be a great theologian. I then just posted on Elliot's acct of him (Elliot) and a Fanta. 😉 I was planning to crack it open and pour some out for my Homeboy Benny, but... I don't really want soda. Anyway... Prior to his death I went on a shopping spree and bought a few books. Introduction to Christianity which is far from an introduction. Lol. Jesus, The Apostles and the Early Church because it's always good to read / learn about the early church. Today I received Seeking God's Face: Meditations for the Church Year. I wasn't planning on reading it now, but when I flipped through it had meditations for each month, so might as well. As I said (?), prior to anything I was gonna read the last (for me, it's actually the 1st of the books) Jesus of Nazareth book between Christmas and Lent. Hm... What am I reading for Lent? I flipped through the Meditations book again. It looks like there are 2 chapters per month. But then there is an entire separate section on Advent and Christmas. I guess I have next years read...
Lol. I wanted Mae to follow my "secret" acct, but I didn't want to like say hey, follow me... So 7500centfish texted her. HAHAHAH!!!
Went to "Rite Aid" to pick up Mom and my meds. Bye tech who knows me! Bye Grace! Ugh. Also got lancets for Mom and batteries for her cane. Got bagels from the bagel store. 1 to eat on the go and 6 for my breakfast. Uncle Giuseppe's for a few extras. Crackers, more cheese, garlic bread, nanners for Mommy.
Mom who said we had too much food for pizza wanted sisig... So we went to Guiradelco. But whatever they had is what they had and they didn't have sisig. So we went back to Philippine's Best and... They just happened to pull some out for the back in time.
Past 6:30 now... Had honeybaked ham, garlic bread, salad.
Did Evening Prayer so liturgically it's the New Year. Well, no... The 1st Sunday of Advent is the New Year. So I guess, liturgically it's Jan 1st.
