Soulless

Alexia Tarabotti is everything an English raised Victorian lady should be, well except that she has no soul. In the late 1800's, Alexia, an Italian by birth spinster, is attacked by a rouge vampire at a ball, and becomes object of investigation that brings her and the mysterious London pack Alpha were Lord Maccon dangerously close.
I picked this book up on a whim when Borders was closing. I'd seen it around a lot, and thought it might be good. It was really great! It's my first steampunk novel (I'm more and more into the genre as I see it!), with vampires, werewolves, ghosts and Alexia, who is a soul sucker, a person who has no soul. This was a fantastic read, with a strong, kick butt, but proper leading lady and a lot of great characters. If you're into supernatural or steampunk, I highly recommend it!

Alexia Tarabotti, or Lady Maccon, is adjusting to her new life as the pack alpha's mate nicely. That is until all of London's supernatural beings suddenly loose their immortality and become human. Vampires and Weres are all on edge, is it a curse, or a weapon, Alexia, not wanting to stand on the sidelines, heads out to investigate.
The sequel to Soulless, and a really great book! All the same elements, same Alexia kick butt attitude with a great mystery and twist! I can't wait to read the rest of them!

Mercedes Thompson is a regular a VW mechanic by day, and coyote shifter by night. She lives next to the Tri City Were pack leader, but beyond his good looks, she minds her own business and keeps her head down. Until one night, a new stray were asks for some work and a place to stay, all hell breaks loose and she's forced to go back to her family for help, if they'll take her.
I ended up winning this from a book draw a long time ago, and just forgot about it. It's actually a really great book! It's got a lot of good characters and a great back story. The beginning is a little hard to follow, since it just jumps in and doesn't tell you a lot about Mercy or her family, but it all comes together in the end. Recommended if you like werewolves or supernatural.

A compilation of short stories from the Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mysteries books. It's pretty short, so a great read for anyone who loves the SS books!
The Prodigal God
by Timothy Keller
Christian/Bible Study
Rating - A
Retelling of the well known Prodigal Son parable from the Bible. Very well done and a great message overall. Timothy Keller retold this story in a very interesting way, looking at it from a way I've never even thought about, the 2 brothers both being lost, as opposed to the one.
Highly recommended if you enjoy Christian studies
