Pictures today! I didn't finish a pattern repeat on the fair isle vest, but that's because we had houseguests, and sock knitting while chatting with people and watching movies is much easier than fair isle knitting. I did, however, make a ton of progress on the sockapal-2-za sock.
Doesn't the vest look so much better, now that I got to the warm colors? I like the colorway better than in the book picture, as I feel the colors flow together much more nicely than they do in the picture in the book. It's slow going, but I'm really happy with it. And it's going to look really gorgeous after it's blocked, when the stitches will be stretched and plumped.
Sock! I was a bit ambitious last night, in fretting about the calculations for turning the heel. As you can see, I only got about halfway through the flap, anyway. I decided to go with a 5" leg, which I'm happy with. It's long enough to be a respectable non-stingy length, without leaving me worried about running out of yarn for the foot. I'll probably be working on the fair isle whenever I can, though, so I don't know how fast progress will be on this sock, this week.
SPIIIIIIINNNNNN! (What socks in progress do best.)
