Heritage Scotland has a free weekend once a year and it just so happened that I was here for it which was quite nice.  A group of friends and I went to Stirling Castle, about 40 min from Glasgow, to one of Scotland's best castles.  After Edinburgh, I really enjoyed Stirling, I found it much more interested, though both are amazing.

Easter Break, the Germany Chapter...

From Dresden we rented a car and drove across Germany on the Autobahn which was a lot of fun.  Getting of Dresden proved to a be a challenge but we made it unscathed and drove through some pretty villages and saw some walls (along the Autobahn there are walls in areas of high wind to prevent cars from getting ( Read more... )

So over Easter Break I travelled from Glasgow to Prague, Dresden, Erfurt, Koln and Amsterdam.  Megan and I had a great took and I took nearly 1000 photos, so here is a brief snapshot of my trip.  I will do the first entry of travelling to Prague and Prague and Dresden.  The second entry will be of Erfurt and Koln.  The final entry will be of ( Read more... )

Mine now includes a castle and a supposedly haunted one at that...i spent this weekend with 150 other international students at Carbisdale Castle in the Northeast of Scotland about 45min from Inverness. The weekend before I went to Norway, a group from Strathclyde went to Glengoyne Distillery and Loch Lomond.

It was a rather cold and miserable Saturday but we had a great time.  Here are a few pics, and please note, yes we drank whiskey before 12pm, the Scots were so proud.

So this past weekend Anita and I went to Norway to visit Are, who I met last semester at SFU.  We joked in the fall that I'd have to visit there, but I don't think that either of us thought it would really come true.  However, timing worked out and I visited Oslo.  Its a beautiful city that I would love to visit again in the summer as I can only ( Read more... )
