Writer's Block: Out of fashion

Mar 18, 2010 16:40

So I have decided to write a response to one of these floating writing prompts that appear whenever I sign into Livejournal. I skimmed through a few questions and thought to challenge myself with a area of modern society that I am slowly losing touch with, fashion.

I have no qualms over male fashion, or if I do it is a rare and fleeting. Wait, I take that back, I am often vexed by overly priced fashion goods which are meant to represent yourself as chic and cool, such as Ed Hardy. Damn the jewel encrusted non... Look at me! I sound like an out of sync 4th grade teacher! The truth is that I would definitely buy Ed Hardy, but I cannot do much to stifle my internal laughter at seeing how much importance we place in the pursuit to look good. Maybe its programed within ourselves, as creatures of flesh we are still tethered to the rules of Nature, no matter what we do to separate ourselves as a unique flock on this here Planet Earth. There is nothing wrong with looking good, but at the cost I wonder if we are dancing to the beat of the designated fashion gods.

Ladies, you need to pass along whatever it is your smoking, because the creative mess you often plaster yourself with each and every day fills me with wonder. But onto the main course. Uggs. God damn Uggs. They are a wretched instrument that turns the user into a complete bitch. Maybe my experience with the Ugg scene has been tainted because so many of the wearers were in sororities, and thus, would always hold their chin up in a strong condescending sort of way.

I would obliterate the Uggs, as it is the armor of bitches and we need less of those in our world today.
