12 - Growing up doesn't mean having to stop believing
Bridge to Terabithia (2007) was the one Disney movie that completely and utterly took me by surprise. I was expecting a light and happy, feel-good movie! I was NOT prepared to cry a river!
Don't let the two happy and extremely photogenic childhood friends with their very own magical world fool you like it did me -- this is a very powerful, non-formulaic, NON-HAPPILY EVER AFTER story about how some children are forced to grow up faster than others, but that doesn't mean they have to give up on (or ruin for others) the beauty of make-believe.
I am also certain this is the movie that made me unable to ever EVER like Zooey Deschanel.
