Dragon*Con 2009 Day One Pt. 2 (Friday)
Help! Does anyone know of a media sharing website where I can upload a 2KB file? I've had a few requests for the video I shot of the Mary panel, but it's a 2 KB file even after it's been zipped. All of the media sharing sites I've found (mediafire, sendspace, etc) only allow 100MB file uploads for free accounts. :(
In other news, here's the second part of day one!
So after The Paul McGillion Show was over I meandered around for a bit and then headed across the street to the Hyatt for the first Buffy the Vampire Slayer panel of the weekend. The panel was already in progress when I got there, but I got a fairly decent seat anyway. The stars present were Kristy Swanson, Felicia Day, Charisma Carpenter, and Julie Benz. Honestly, I was just going for Charisma and Julie. I wasn't disappointed!
Charisma is pissed about how Joss handled the character of Cordelia in the 4th season of Angel. She almost didn't come back for the 5th season episode "You're Welcome". Oh, and she didn't want Cordy to die.
All of the girls prefer playing the bad girl/evil character to the good girl. It's more fun.
Julie and Charisma are BFFs. ♥ SO CUTE.
After the Buffy panel I had a bit of free time, so I went upstairs to the room. I laid on the bed and chilled for a while, as well as uploaded all of the pictures I'd already taken to my laptop. Because yeah, I took a TON of pictures from every panel. I'm just showing you a few of my favorites from each.
Before I knew it, it was time to go back across the street to the Mariott for the SG-1 panel. Stars at this panel included Gary Jones (Walter Harriman), Colin Cunningham (Major Davis), and Ben Browder (do I really need to explain this one?).
So I don't really remember a lot from this panel, except that these three guys were HILARIOUS. They had me in stitches for the entire hour. And Ben is such a good ol' country boy. ♥

Perhaps this is around the time that Gary was talking about how he never got to go through the stargate. His one goal, and in 10 seasons of SG-1 it NEVER happened. It was implied once, but apparently that just isn't the same. The reason he never got to take a stroll through the ol' orifice? It would have cost too much. FAIL. *cuddles Gary*
And Ben is all smug looking. "I got to go through the gate for two seasons, Gary!"
I don't have a clue. But isn't it a great shot?
So after the SG-1 panel was over I left the room and got in a line to reenter the same room for the BSG panel. LOL. Of course, I didn't have such a great seat, but it wasn't terrible. Stars present for this panel: Kevin Grazier (rocket scientist, science advisor for BSG), Kate Vernon, Kandyse McClure, Alessandro Juliani, Michael Trucco, Luciana Carro, and surprise crasher Michael Hogan.
Yeah, I have virtually no comments from this panel. Sorry. It was really good, I'm sure. I just... don't remember. Probably because there was no Mary. Um... Hogan crashing was great! Kate Vernon seemed really surprised and pleased. They pulled him up a chair beside her, and they were really cute together.
At some point there was a question about the bromance between Saul Tigh and Bill Adama, and Ellen did a charming finger puppet show about how Ellen was excluded. That's all I've got. Here, have a few pictures:
It's around 6:30PM now, and I'm dead. So I go back up to my room and collapse for a while. I was planning on going to the Buffy Horror Picture Show and the Doctor Horrible Sing-Along, but that just didn't happen. So now that's on my list for next year. I rest for a while, and then drag myself down to the Westin for our rememberlauradc party in the lobby bar.
I got there first, and almost fell asleep in this incredibly comfy chair. But wait! There's dashakay and icedteainthebag! And then more people start showing up, both ones that I'd met that morning and ones that I hadn't met. So I start talking to own_the_sky and 37_idees_fixes. Leah shows me an INCREDIBLE new Mary picture. I may have freaked just a little, but it's all good because I'm with like minded people. They totally get it.
Then I meet usagi636 and talk to her for a while. The party was awesome. I have no pictures to show you, because they all feature friends, but take my word for it- EPIC. At some point there was a practical joke involving a really creepy fake hand. I actually have that hand in most of my pictures, but I didn't have a clue until just recently. lol!
I finally leave the party at around 11:30PM with the Eurogals and usagi636, head back to the Hyatt, take a shower, and collapse in bed. Day two will be coming soon, and will feature BSG, Stargate, Buffy, and the BSG Colonial Fleet party! :)
