FIRST CHARACTER WITH ANY POP CULTURE KNOWLEDGE, HOOO!
Alright, so! Ned is a teenage boy. He likes TV, movies, and video games! He probably won't recognize many (if any) anime characters, unless they've been dubbed and put on Cartoon Network. l-lulz. BUT COMMENT HERE ANYWAY, because this post has two purposes!
1. Can Ned recognize your character? DETAILS: Can he talk about how they're fictional to their face, or should I wait to jump you until he really understands that CHARACTERS ARE PEOPLE TOO/ask the chan for an intervention? (Example: Ned starts fanboying. [insert whoever's wiling here] comes along and DISTRACTS HIM/hits him/pushes him in the lake, etc etc etc.)
2. Would you like to be a NED DISTRACTION? Ned is not subtle. He will be stalking the pirates like CRAZY. To avoid any extreme brainbreaking, would you like to volunteer a character to COME OUT OF NOWHERE AND NONCON HIM? It'll be awesome.
BASICALLY Ned will eventually get it through his head that, hey, maybe he shouldn't run around telling people they're AWESOME ACTORS or "OH MAN I LOVE YOUR SHOW" but until then I'll make sure something happens so he doesn't break anyone's worldview. I don't want to step on any toes, so if we're threading and you're getting uncomfortable, PM me on IRC and we'll work it out!
