concertgoing/music meme, the last question of which is a doozy. :)

Nicked from
folktraveler, but it's made its way through my flist.

1. What was the last concert you attended?
I volunteered at Lansdowne Folk Club Thursday night (3/22) for the post-St. Paddy's Day show, with local band Patrick's Head and their mates Shane Dodd and Karl Mullen.

2. How many people were there?
40-ish

3. What bands have you seen in concert the most, and how many times?
Moxy Früvous - 30+ shows -  although other acts are catching up.  Counting festival appearances, I've probably seen Eddie From Ohio, Dar Williams, the Kennedys, and the NIelds (in various configurations) close to that many times.

4. Do you have any setlists? From what bands?
I have a bunch of Früvous setlists that kind of fell into my possession, and maybe one from Great Big Sea.  I only stage-slithered for setlists a couple of times.

5. Are there any CDs in close proximity to you? Which ones?
Haha, there are about 200 CDs within 3 feet of me.  The closest ones are Patrick's Head, the Nields, Howie Day, Old 97s, Dan Bern, Crooked Still, Arrogant Worms, Eric Schwartz, Mozart, and a bunch of Fruvous concert boots.

6. What band are you in the mood to see live right this second?
Fruit!  That would be awesome!

7. Have you ever been on a tour bus?
*ahem* NO.

8. Have you ever partied with a band?
If a backyard barbecue and hanging in my living room playing Playstation count, yes. Oh yeah ... and Russell Wolff on the Not!New Millenium (12/31/99/ - 01/01/00).   And then there's always hangin' at the Budgiedome with food and the occasional glass of wine/snort of Scotch.

9. How many states/provinces have you been to concerts in?
Canada: Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia; U.S.: Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, Ohio.  Went to a Celtic music festival in Spain - does that count?

10. What bands did you see live the month of May?
Huh?  I don't keep a concert calendar so I have no idea.

This month I have seen Glen Phillips and the aforementioned Patrick's Head;  and there will be Iain Campbell Smith next weekend.

11. What CD are you addicted to at the moment?
None.  I don't get addicted to CDs generally; I get addicted to songs.  It's a toss-up between "The Band Played Waltzing Matilda" and "Whose Son Am I" by Patrick's Head, and a Sonia/disappear fear medley running through my brain.

12. Who is one band that you used to like, but now you can't stand?

um ...  Celine Dion I guess.

13. Have you ever been on anyone's guest list? Whose?
Nope

14. Last band person that you got a picture with?
Wow ... that was a long time ago, whoever it was.  Probably Pete and Maura Kennedy at their Halloween show at the Point.

15. Do you consider yourself a groupie?
Nope.  Folk community participant with occasional fangirl squeeing, that's me.

16. How old were you when you went to your first concert?
15 or so

17. Who was it?
The Bee Gees.  *ducks*

18. Which artists haven't you seen yet that you want to see?
Bruce Springsteen omg.  Willie Nelson.  Loreena McKennitt.  And I wish I'd seen Johnny Cash.

19. Are you wearing a band shirt right now?
No.

20. What band do you own the most merch of?
Probably Fruvous.  I don't buy a lot of merch other than CDs

21. Do you ever do anything crazy at shows?
Stupid Frühead antics, yes.  I don't know if they count as crazy or not - it's just audience participation.

22. What are your favourite venues to go to shows at?
Steel City Coffeehouse in Phoenixville, community folk-club facilities such as at Lansdowne Folk and the Cellar Stage series in Baltimore.   Or a perfect festival, with clear weather, low pollen and pollution levels, highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.

23. What band do you have the most performance pictures of?
No idea, at this point, since I've been photographing late-night stuff at Falcon Ridge for years.

24. Would you ever get a tattoo representing a band?
No.  Not even when it was offered for free, as a prize.

25. How many concerts do you average a year?
Maybe 25-30, plus a few festivals.

26. Upcoming shows?
Iain Campbell Smith next Friday night; Lansdowne Folk Club's Blues Night on April 24; Susquehanna Music and Arts Festival in May; others I don't know about will probably pop up.  :)

27. List every band you've EVER seen live, no matter how obscure:
