John has gotten his PhD! Rejoice!

I am so happy for him.

Now we are off to get sushi. (that's right, I'm in Boston. which you'd know if I ever updated here.)

Mike was supposed to have left for Austin earlier today, but it turned out that he wasn't able to get his car repaired and smog-checked in time. Over the next 6 hours he rented a U-haul, got his car hitched to it, and went from not having packed a single box to having everything he owned secured and ready to move. And now he's on his way. I've always liked the name Elizabeth. I think it's euphonious by itself, it has a nice variety of sounds, and it's easier to say than most four-syllable words.
