as always, things have been happening. most prominent on my mind, right now, is Nori. she was gone for 2 weeks, sick; but I saw her on Monday. I was in the Library, finishing my French homework and some Philosophy homework. we were both leaving- her with books rented, me just walking out- and I tapped her on the shoulder and said "hello." we ended up walking and talking, and she let me come into the Music Practice Rooms to hear her play the piano. she plays wonderfully, despite being nervous due to my presence. being classically trained, I asked her to play something for me, so she played the piano part of Mozart's magnum Opus, the name of which I know not. but it's the one that everyone plays the first 8 notes of, but never the rest... after that, I said to her, "would you think it odd if I told you that being able to play the piano is very attractive?" she disagreed, but I think it is.
shortly thereafter, she had to go to class, and I did too (Music Theory had been cancelled, Mr. Bump was sick), but if she didn't have to, I would have gladly stayed and listened to her play- screw Geometry! but she had to go, and I walked her there. we talked about the things we read, language, music, etc. I revealed that I can speak Old English (sort of.. I've forgotten a lot since learning- mostly the rules & grammar), and she told me that "speaking a dead language is far sexier than playing the piano! but maybe that's because I already play the piano but can't speak Old English." we parted ways in front of the 800 building, but not before she asked me for my myspace and my phone number. I got her phone number too.
I like her... she's interesting, she likes philosophy, she plays piano, she's fun, charming, very pretty, dresses and looks unique, and... she's fascinating. there's a certain gravity to her character that I can't resist. I tried calling her earlier, to see if she wanted to do something, but she didn't pick up and hasn't called back yet. I wish she had.. I really just want to get it out and say it to her: "Nori, I think you're very interesting.. and I would really like to spend some time with you and get to know you... would you like to go out some time?" then, she would be free to accept or decline my offer. but therein lies the problem: I can take hints and recognize behaviors and body language and such, but in the end, I can never be entirely certain that she actually feels the same about me. it could just be a front and in reality she despises me. but maybe not. maybe she thinks I'm cute and funny and likes talking to me. I have my thoughts, but not hers- I don't have the complete picture... but that hasn't stopped before. and in this case, I'll pursue...
in other news: Modern Warfare 2! it came out, and my copy comes from Amazon.com tomorrow. I also cancelled my pre-order for Left 4 Dead 2. unfortunately, none of my friends are getting it, and with Modern Warfare 2 being out, none of us will probably be playing it anyway.
also video game related: I'm getting a motherfucking Playstation 3! ... for christmas. a long ways off, I know. but here's how it goes: my parents are wanting a Blu-Ray player, which is already $200. I've successfully talked them into letting me pay the extra $100 (or have that as my gift) and upgrading to a PS3, which does video games, and Blu-Ray! in addition to that, it has some good games now, Playstation Network is free, wireless is built in, and the controllers already have rechargeable battery packs! I would still need to buy: an HDMI Cable, HDMI Switcher (there's only two HDMI ports on the TV: one for the Xbox, and another for the PC), an extra controller, a bluetooth headset, and a Blu-Ray Remote controller so my parents can actually use the movie-player.
as for the games, I'm thinking I'll buy them all used\discounted first: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools Of Destruction, Resistance, and LittleBigPlanet; and then also the extra controller.
I still like my Xbox 360 and my PC, but getting a PS3 for a minimum investment of $100? hell yes!
