This city is burning to the ground!

so very, very much has happened. very, very much. I could go on and on, but I guess I'll start with the important things:

I failed Math 104 over the summer, but passed Piano and Cosmology.

I went to the Vans Warped Tour with Sean and Replacement Joey. Joey Gordon couldn't go, so Sean invited a Joe that he knows from work. half-way through the drive there, we were cracking jokes that, " ahh... it's just not the same." hahaha! also, I was giving directions, and I got us lost briefly, but we got back on track, and were only about 20 minutes late. but still, we missed We The Kings, and I wanted to see them. oh well, I saw plenty of other bands: Senses Fail, NOFX, The Devil Wears Prada, Westbound Trains, Streetlight Manifesto, Less Than Jake, Saosin, Silverstein, and many other bands that I watched briefly before going to see another band or on my way to another band. I also got to meet the singer of a band named TAT (she wasn't too pleasant with me when I asked her if she would hate me if I pirated her album; the only reason I asked is because some bands don't care, and will tell people that they should. eventually, I made up for it by buying their album), I got a picture with Saosin and Less Than Jake, and I also bought a Silverstein poster and got this year's Vans Warped Tour Poster and the 2009 Vans Warped Tour shirt. I also got some other random band's EP for $5. oh, and another crowd surfer fell on me during The Devil Wears Prada, but luckily he didn't completely fall on me. I was still stunned from the 130-pound knock to my temporal lobe, which caused me to go down in the middle of the crowd, but otherwise, I was good to go. I also met the dudes who helped me up at the fountains.. they were pretty cool, and I thanked them.

all in all, the 2009 Vans Warped Tour was okay. it wasn't as good as previous years, but it was alright. every year it gets more expensive- $40 for this year- and every year there are fewer bands I want to see. this year they combined stages in pairs, and had only one main stage, so there were fewer bands than previous years. it was a little annoying, mostly because I had to wait for the bands to set up rather than being able to go from stage to stage. it was also insanely hot, and I got a nice tan.

oh, and there were people there this year: Fransisco from French class went, so did Chris (from Vanden and Solano) and Stephen Castro, with Stephen's little brothers. I don't think Shane was there, though. unfortunately, I didn't pick up a hot concert chick this year, either.

another thing going on: I started school. this semester, I have:

Music Theory 001 (First Semester Music Theory)- MTWRF 9-10AM, with Mr. Bump.
Math 103 (Plane Geometry)- MWF 10-11AM, with Mr. Harrow
Philosophy 005 (Moral Philosophy)- MWF 11-12PM, with Mr. Warren
(Break- MWF, 12-1PM)
French 3 (Third Semester French)- MWF 1-2:30PM, with Mme Linz (Madame Marlow-Munoz retourne apres le bebe, Marsielle)
Math 104 (Intermediate Algebra)- TR 2:30-5PM, with Mr. Martinelli.

school is okay, except not having anyone to sit with during lunch. that's kind of unpleasant. I like all my classes except Math 104. I really want to get that out of the way, and I know I can pass it this semester. I just need to be able to pass the exams. I've done good on most of the quizzes so far, except two, which I did bad on because I left late, arrived late, and feeling hot, and rushed. if it wasn't for that class, I would be doing much better, but I absolutely need it. in fact, it's the only class I need; the others are just for fun and education. I love Philosophy, Geometry will help me with math, I want to learn Music Theory, and I reeeeally want to finish learning French at Solano.

for about two weeks, I had a girlfriend too. her name is Krystle Gallardo. she's beautiful, different, sweet, insanely attractive (or maybe I'm just insanely attracted to her), and she's just amazing to me. it's hard to explain, but she set my heart a-flutter. I really started talking to her the day before the Vans Warped Tour (which was also the week school started, the VWT was on Friday). I thought maybe, for a second, I would have someone to keep me company through the cold winters. but she has a fundamental flaw in her character: fear. Krystle is paralyzed by fear... fear of decision-making, fear of consequences, fear of bad choices, fear of love, fear of attachment, fear of being hurt or heartbroken. and that bothers me. I've lived so much of my life in fear and anxiety of those things that I just can't do it anymore. I told her that she had to make a choice: expel her fear and be with me, or leave. before I even asked her, I knew what she was going to say. and a couple days later, she told me: she chose to remain in anxiety and fear. I would have preferred her to tell me in person- and I asked, but she refused- but I let all of it go. we still talk, and I'm glad she's at least civil enough to speak to me. it's a shame... I really would have liked to be with her. aside from that, we only had one real date: we saw District 9 at the Century Theatre in Vallejo. it took me forever to find her house, and Google Maps led me in the wrong direction. we sat in her house, cuddling on a chair, before leaving. the movie was very good.. perhaps even too good for a date. if a movie's too interesting, how am I supposed to take my eyes off of it to make out!?

aside from that, we had a lot of fun. she also asked me to sing for her (since I mentioned before that I can sing), so I sang the song "Brightest" by Copeland while in the car. she said I was very good. by the time I had her back at her house, it was dark, so we stood out in front of her door holding each other. her skin is very soft.. it was nice, getting to hold her. she admitted that she liked almost everything about me.. there's some things I'll just never understand about people without being able to read minds. I've decided I should let it go before I let it consume me. and I've pretty much done that, but I still can't help but wonder sometimes...

also, I've been getting into music again. I have a ton on my computer that I haven't listened to yet, and I want to get it all done and catalogued and listened to. since my music is categorized alphabetically, I'm almost done with B, but sometimes I skip around to C or R or M. eventually, I'll get through all of it.. er, enough of it before I start downloading the new albums from all the bands that I downloaded.

that's about it for right now. I'm talking to Krystle right now, and she's being kind of a bitch. maybe she's in a bad mood because her favourite baseball team lost. oh, yeah, she's into sports, especially baseball and the San Fransisco Giants.
