More on names-

So, yesterday I stumbled upon (through Nymbler, which is SO FUN) a name that struck me as absolutely perfect: MAX. It's short, it has the same sound as "Jack" but we wouldn't be taking it from friends who may use it down the line, it's masculine, it's recognizable without being overly common, and neither of us know anyone by that name. I absolutely love it. So of course, Brian turned it down flat.

Maybe I can persuade him to accept John Maxwell Ballinger, and he can try to get people to call the baby Jack and I can try to get them to call him Max and we'll just see which sticks.

His suggestions yesterday were Harper and Horace. I may cry.

Also, I'm thinking I might be a lot closer to having this kid than the doctors think, and it's freaking me out. Nora was due on March 2, and born on March 12. This kid was first due on March 27 (based on hcg levels and when I started feeling funky), then they moved it to April 1, then my new OB moved it to April 8, based on the 20 week ultrasound. I didn't have an early dating ultrasound because my old OB didn't perform them, and since this was an unplanned pregnancy we have no clue ourselves when it happened, so, yeah. Could be any time. And following my cervical exam on Monday, where I was found to be 2 cm dilated (with Nora I didn't dilate until after my water broke and I was checked in to the hospital) I've been losing pieces of the mucus plug (which REALLY needs to be renamed, because as I said last year, that is the most disgusting term in pregnancy). Some yesterday, some again today.

I know it can regenerate (there's a time lord in my cervix!) but still, I'm spooked that rather than coming on April 10, which has been my guess, I may end up with another March baby, and I am SO. NOT. READY.
