Zombie Apocalypse!

What if the continental U.S. descended into a Zombie (Body Snatcher/The Thing/etc) Apocalypse?

Well, first I'll make sure I have a few buddies to back me up from the start (we might pick up more in the way). Surely Juan will be my right-hand man in this quest for survival; actually, when we talk about zombie apocalypses we are always backing each other up.

I'll probably add in Anya due to her obssesion for Zombie, etc stuff...which might translate as increase knowledge about our enemy and thus an advantage. There's also the factor that she can do DIY surgeries and have some experience growing food. I'll especially add her into the team if she's read that book about surviving a Zombie, etc apocalype.

I suppose, in this scenario, we all must be located in Orlando, Miami, or Southwest Florida. The larger goal is to get to the sea and sail off in a boat to an island or drive off via heli to Alaska! The immediate goal is survival and escape.

Weapons will be relatively easy to come by in comparison to the poor brits in "28 days later."
If the zombies, etc are infectuous and I was given the role to lead out group, I'll run a strict policy to infection.
In other words, people who are infected would be immediately executed. If there's a test to see if one is infected, etc anyone who refuses it will be summarily executed. Survival of the group is of outmost concern.

Teams will be organized with different sorts of weapons (mostly machine guns and shotguns) to clear out buildings that have to be "foraged" for supplies.

Another rule is that during our escape we won't make the mistake that the idiots in "Cloverfield" did (i.e. he went across NYC to find some girl who was already to the verge of death. He also endangered the friends that followed him). We aren't going to rescue anyone if we don't even know if that person is alive or not. If anyone wants to rescue someone else who is far from the direction we are going they can part ways with the group then.

During nightfall we would have to barricade ourselves into buildings so to sleep, obviosly. Vehicles will probably be important, but they have to be large ones.

Now that I think about it in depth....surviving zombies (etc) is harder then I thought!
