Of Shoes and... Electrickery
I should be blogging sensibly about today's electrician's visit - which went splendidly and we now have usable power points and light fittings (though we need to go out and buy new lampshades). The reason for the short-out in the bronzed designer lamp was explained - apparently up to 1970 houses were built without earthed light fittings as the pendants were always plastic - when metal fittings became popular earth wires had to be added (I do think that our original electrician might have pointed out that we shouldn't be fitting a metal light in a house built in 1967). This may also explain the problems we have with ecobulbs.
But then Amoretta posted a link on Ij and I had to share Kobi Levi's crazy shoes (NSFW). Especially the collared cat ones. And the long-eared hound ones. And the 'sling-backs'. (Checks lottery ticket. Suddenly I understand the urge to spend thousands on a pair of shoes.)
