Poem: Simon says forever

Mar 10, 2009 16:38

Forever is a word that can only fall from god’s lips
defies all physical laws and defeats all that is real
it is only a word that is heavy as thunder in the air
and when you said them you were like a god you didn’t believe in
I was yours in every way

but now I am a marionette doll you’ve played with
ridiculed me on my little stage that you built for me
you gave me a name you gave me a reason
but now I am only a part of a decaying show
only a part of your past

it was beautiful when you held me in the rotting rain
when the leaves glued themselves to my hair
it was autumn in your heart already then
never did you think in your egocentric brain
that feelings are something we share
love does not pass like passion

and I hate you now
where your love flowered like blooming trees in spring
 a bombshell now lays
after all the words you muttered when the door slammed shut
when the walls trembled after your roaring exit

you held me in bed where sheets stuck
your leg around mine and the ceiling was swooning
your lies that love was what it was and your butterfly kisses
falseness played on your face that I took for genuine
how could someone be so false?
how can someone that plays so close to love tear down all walls
expose me and put strings on me like a marionette doll
you gave me a direction to walk
you made me say yes when I wanted to say no
you forced me on my knees when I used to stand tall
how could you destroy everything that was me just like that?

you didn’t come to the funeral of my individuality
no you where at a party that day staring someone lovingly in the eyes
wish I was there when you put the noose around her pale neck
pointed to police in your direction and given you the chair

I will destroy you
take every trophy for a girl you find
slit their throat before your noose breaks their neck
I will show you that love never passes
that it plus betrayal equals hate
it’s so much easier than you think
(you said forever)
