I said to my dreams that they could take a rest
mumbled in my sleep to the stars that they could fade
hugged my pillow and thought that down could make the world prettier
I screamed to my beating heart to slow down just for a while
for the tears to subside
and let me breathe for a silent long while
And I looked at the wall in a white painted room
stared at the door that you've never come through
thinking that maybe this is the way it should be
heartbreak
it's no world covered in down
and I close my eyes and say to my dreams
a dreamless sleep would be so sweet
now that I can't even dream that you love me
