Title: Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
Rating: 4/5
Pages: 208
Genre:  YAlit/Romance
Summary(off Goodreads): It all starts when Nick asks Norah to be his girlfriend for five minutes. He only needs five minutes to avoid his ex-girlfriend, who's just walked in to his band's show. With a new guy. And then, with one kiss, Nick and Norah are off on an adventure set against the backdrop of New York City;and smack in the middle of all the joy, anxiety, confusion, and excitement of a first date.

This he said/she said romance told by YA stars Rachel Cohn and David Levithan is a sexy, funny roller coaster of a story about one date over one very long night, with two teenagers, both recovering from broken hearts, who are just trying to figure out who they want to be;and where the next great band is playing.

Really, anything by David Levithan should be read. The man is a miracle worker and his books are like little gifts of ambrosia given to mankind. Ok, so maybe I exaggerate a little bit, and maybe my reviews of his books are a little biased because I love him so, but I really did like Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

It had things that I didn't expect. Like, for one, there was no ACTUAL playlist. While music was very prevalent in the book (which I LOVED), I thought that maybe there'd be a song a chapter or something of that nature. Not the case. There is a "playlist" at the beginning of the book, but it doesn't do much during the book.

I also like how fluid the book is. Often times, when you get two authors working on a collaboration, the flow of the book is sometimes off. Or it's VERY obvious which writer is writing which chapter (Will Grayson, Will Grayson falls victim to this. Not that I don't ADORE that book, but it's really obvious which chapter Green writes and which chapter Levithan writes.) Levithan and Cohn have very similar writing styles, making it difficult to tell who is writing which character (I'm fairly certain Levithan is writing Nick and Cohn is writing Norah.)

I liked how "on again, off again" this relationship was, even though it was just one night. I love that it was just one night. They were both so insecure about everything but watching them find love, find their other half, have this kind of surreal night. It doesn't really matter what the next day is going to bring, or next week or next month because that NIGHT was pretty perfect. I found myself, for once, not needing to know what happens to them. I don't really care. Because that one night was so great, and so perfect and so magical that if I heard about the rest of their relationship, it would kind of ruin it for me.

I like that you managed to get to hear about their pasts, even in this one night. I like that Nick's girlfriend managed to be a bitch and a nice person, all at the same time. I kind of wish that we had heard more about Norah's ex. He seemed like he was put in there just because she had to have one. He was very unfleshed out and kind of... useless I think. I almost think we didn't need to meet him at any point.

Overall, I loved the book. It was fun and feel good a little magical. It's a romance book without being too... romancy. I recommend it to anyone just looking for a feel good book.
