it's August 21st, 2010.

I'm 31.75 years old (on the 27th)

The northeast, which helped me find my identity, doesn't seem so far away now. Espescially after my cross country hikes. and after listening to my mother & brother's stories of a 26+ hour plane ride to Austrilia.

So now, a mere 105 min jet ride doesn't seem so bad. When I was a kid it seemed like a universe away...particularly b/c the whole mode of transit I took to get up here made it seem that way too (18+ hour bus rides) But now I've traveled the country enough to know what i'm going to like. I've always liked it up here and after traveling to other parts of the northeast, i know i particularly like the nyc region especially.

it's probably because these places have just as much of a root in my mind as do many others in my hometown.

I may never claim a permanent residence up here, but as long as these connections exist, I will always find a way to come up and visit.

too bad there's no time gain like there is going out west. 3 am is... 3 am. i'd better get some sleep, because in 24 hours i'll probably be out in manhattan with at least another hour to go before sleeping is even a REMOTE thought on the horizon.

night :)
