(no subject)
i'm in japan!....i just got back from my first sento experience....i felt bad staring at people but i wasn't sure what to do so i had to watch and copy.....i got to look at myself in the mirror while i showered and i noticed that i stil have cuts and bruises all over my body from adventure race hell and my lame attempts to propel down rocks with just a knotted rope.....i never updated livejournal about my adventure race because i was too traumatized by the experience ...all i'll say is that i had a flo-ment and during my floment there was no way i was going to get into a kayak to finish the last leg of the race.....then i just sat there and let my teammate, casey do all the work....my arms were still really sore though from my fake kayaking
so anyway, back to my public bathing.....never have i felt so good and clean! i wish someone would have played naked mah jong with me ...anyway, i'm opening one in simi valley and it will have heated toliet seats
after taking the bus full circle and then going on the train the wrong way i broke down and took a cab....i've pretty much walked everywhere because nothing is far in kyoto and there is so much to see along the way to places...the bus driver didn't charge me for my round trip because he laughed at me instead.....my cab driver ended up speaking a little english.....we talked about the kabuki theatre and then i told him i was from california and he busts out with this picture of him sandwiched inbetween tom cruise and nicole kidman...he asked me if they were still famous...i told him tom cruise was all over the news...i didn't have the heart to mention katie holmes though
as a part of my quest to morph into a japanese girl, i got a haircut today....everyone here has pretty much the same haircut so i figured i'd just walk in.....i was confused because he washed, cut and blow dried my hair and then he took me back to the sink and washed my hair again and then blow dried it......i liked him though.....him and my cab driver were my favorite people of the day
tomorrow i meet tim at our hotel in tokyo! i'm also going to stop by yokohama staduim too see if i can get tickets to the fifa world club championship semi-finals and finals....i called today and they were not sold out! i'm going to cheer on liverpool and drool over gerrard....
i'm going to go to bed, there is a guy here that is really nice to me and offerered to make me tea this morning....he just invited me out with him and his friend and i declined telling him that i was going out tomorrow and he told me that tomorrow is sunday and you can't go out.......i think he's arabic because he was reading and book with arabic writing the other day....i just had a flashback of tim singing "drinking on a sunday at a catholic school"
