So the Day of Giving Thanks is almost here, and that means constant feasting, which for me, has already begun! Sunday night--Me, Twig, Rachel, and new friend Chad went to Karna's for a pre-Thanksgiving feast, full of organic, locally grown everything from the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)! There was sooooo much good food, most of it vegetarian, except for, you know, the turkey and the lamb n stuff, but oh man...it was amazing. Karna is amazing. I want to marry her. I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Thinking of her makes me little heart go pitter patter :) :)
We were joined by Karna's roommate (kristin?), Karan's new roommate Tamar, and Jason, Damien, Sam, some other people...their house is so nice! So roomy and spacious, with big, comfy couches (with no dust bunnies underneath, I bet!) and two fireplaces! We stuffed ourselves silly, started a fire in the fireplace, played this crazy scherades game and then played lots of beautiful music together. What a great night. I also realized that night that I'm not much for small talk, I think it makes me sound stupid. I was having a hard time talking to Damien that night, and pretty much every time I see him, because I hate talking about stuff that doesn't matter, especially with people who I would really like to get know, and who I would want to know me...does that make sense? Anyway, it's so awkward with him, but I'm always awkward around people that I know have an interest in me. I don't know what it is. Whatever, I'm calling him today to see if he wants to play music, and...hang out...
Yesterday, I got done with my day at 12:45, record time! Only because I didnt have to teach, but it was so nice. I ate lunch with Food Not Bombs in the Community Garden next door, and then did the crosswords and the jumble from the newspaper with Eric and Sebastian and Shawna. Then Katie came over and we acted like little kids, I love her. I love the real her that she's feeling so comfortable with lately. Makes me happy. After that, I played in the Messiah, which I thought went rather well, considering my stand partner needs a punch in the face sometimes. Went straight to Aaron's open mic at Applesauce Teahouse after that, and played violin with him (a rendition of the Dead Milkmen, it was awesome) and this older guy, Mark (the Pirate) who plays awesome jazz guitar and lots of older tunes. He's one of the best guitarists in town. It was fun. The crowd was really tight the whole time I was there. The whole open mic circle is becoming tighter and tighter every week, so thank you Aaron Johnson!
I am so very excited to go down to Phx for Thanksgiving, so I can see my lovely friends that kept me sane during the summertime this year. And my mama and sista. Can't wait. And food. And Twig's familia. Uh huh, uh huh, uh huh.
But first, partyin it up tonight and tomorrow in Flag!!!! Hopefully something happens with Damien, he's too adorable not to try. I will miss my roomies while I'm gone :(
