Hellooo friends. Today was such a relaxing day, first i slept through my first class, hellz yeah. It's ridiculous to have an 8am class today anyway, especially when every other class is cancelled. Although, at 11:15 I did go to my lesson with the wonderful Dr. Scott, and we just kinda bull-shitted for an hour, and she wants me to play in another Flagstaff Symphjony Concert, yayuh! It's the "Holiday Concert", that means The Nutcracker! I love the Nutcracker, it's so nostalgic...fuckin hard to play though.
In other news, Charlie's last night was awesome! Damien was there :) We all said hi, then Twig and I went to tune up (our souls) and go through our set list. We had Damien come up on stage with us for our last song, which was a beautiful rendition of Knockin On Heaven's Door with 3-part harmonies, Damien on guitar, Twig on saw, and me on fiddle. Karna wasn't there last night, though, that was sad. But, I was able to be more of myself around Damien, and less nervous-little-awkward-stupid-girl. And it was great. And Damien, who has trouble not being self-conscious when he plays music, took what I said to heart about him letting go and being free, and when he played his version of "Why Don't We Do It In The Road?" which he always does (which is so hot, by the way, when he sings it) he totally let loose and I've never heard him sing that song so well before. I was proud of him. We got to know each other a bit more, and then his friend Sam showed up, this older guy, maybe later 20's, early 30's...pretty crusty attitude, always wears a leather jacket and fits the tough-guy role perfectly..I like him a lot. I met him before Damien, didn't even know they knew each other, but Sam is so funny. Then this older lady, prolly around 50, but really hot for a middle-ager, hit on me and gave me her glowing mood ring because she liked my music. As a capstone to the evening, at around 1:45 in the morning, these guys in the bar told me they'd pay me $20 for five minutes of fiddle playing. And they actually did it. It was sweet. Oh yeah, and Twig and I made this guy believe that we were lesbian lovers about to get married in Massachusetts. All in all, it was a night of great fun. Especially because most of it consisted of me spending a lot more time with Damien...where we actually talk and flirt and stuff. Mmmmmmhmmmm. He's so cute. I hope he calls next week when everyone gets back from break.
Today I went to Macy's for tea and soup and ran into an old "friend", this hippie-free love-guy that I hooked up with a while back in my rebound stages, post-Briton. He told me, a long time ago, that he wanted to "connect" with me. I only see him when I run into him accidentally, even though he calls me still. We had a nice, awkward conversation after he followed me on his motorcycle when he saw me walk the opposite way towards Macys. He's leaving the country for a half a year, I was a little relieved, although I do enjoy our conversations...when he's not hitting on me.
Tonight's agenda: Keep reading The Fool's Progress by Edward Abbey. Dress up and pre-party for Ladies 80's Night at Mogollon. Dance the night away with $2 drink specials. Try and not make drunken calls to Damien...oh god, better leave my phone at home. Look forward to seein my family tomorrow!
