Arthur Golden really irritates me. He's not an expert on
Geisha and yet he continues to speak as if he were a world authority, it's like
Stephen King giving a discussion on the paranormal or
Thomas Harris giving a lecture on serial killer psychology.
I'll be intrigued to see what the
movie conversion of
Memoirs of a Geisha will be like... I can't imagine it in film. Maybe they'll change the ending and make me a happier person.
Still, I've settled once and for all the fact that this documentary was not the one shown on the ABC last year that I am still trying to track down. By the by if you do want to see the Arthur Golden documentary on Geisha (there are worthwhile parts to it: mainly anecdotes of older Geisha and
Liza Dalby) it can be
bought from Amazon.com. Anyone reading this... I'm halfway through writing the Geisha section for my website and theoretically it will be up sometime in the next few weeks.
Redyed the base colour of my hair tonight (in preparation of fixing streaks + secondary colour tomorrow) and wonder if I shouldn't do something other than just touch up the colour. Any suggestions are welcome.
