I reached a milestone in my cooking career today. I threw a bunch of stuff in a pot without using a recipe, and it came out good. I helped a little old lady cross the street today. Two streets, in fact. I didn't think that kind of thing actually happened in real life. She kept saying how she got so scared crossing, with the things in the news and the cars always coming from so many directions. It made me smile a bit.

So my mom came up to visit this past weekend to go wedding-dress shopping, among other things. She brought her friend Liz with her. Liz was kind of my second mom when I was a kid - the mother of my best friend and my sister’s best friend. We spent a lot of time over at her house. *grin.
