Thank you to everyone who wished me well. I'm happy to report I survived the redundancy cull (or at least this time). It's scary to see how easily this process can be rigged to get rid of people who don't fit. I guess I live fight another day.

So the last three weeks have been unbelievably shit as I've fought off being made redundant. I think I'm safe but I find out officially tomorrow. It's all been very traumatic. There is a downside to overdecorating at Christmas. It takes bloody forever to take everything down. The tree has to be cut in order to get it out of the house and into the car for ethical disposal. Good news everybody. My application for my own bloody job was sucessful and I'm still in gainful employment.

Not that I feel like working for the ratbags anymore. Still, the regular paycheck is a good thing.

I have to write 750 words, well three lots of 250 words, in order to apply for my own job. If I don't meet the competancy criteria as well as the other 10 people forced to apply for only 7 jobs, I'll be redundant a week tomorrow.

Somewhat upsetting.

The new boiler should be installed tomorrow and Friday. I've already heard horror stories about the new kind freezing up this winter. Can't wait. I'm going to insist on insulation until it's the warmest pipes in the house. Maybe I should knit it something?
