ZOOOOOOOOO!

The kid had his third birthday at the L'ville zoo yesterday and it was nice.  I remembered the stroller this time so he didn't get cranky and I didn't get a sore back.  But he hardly got out of the damn thing.  He just wanted me to push him around and not stop to gawk at the animals or take pictures.  It was an okay trip but I guess I was more excited about it than he was.  We did get to see the sea lion training session.  It was nifty but only lasted about 5 minutes.  We had waited for 30 minutes to stake out a spot to sit and watched the sea lions swim round and round so it was a let-down when it was such a short program.  I really thought the whole tip was gonna be loads more fun, but with the kid not wanting to get out of the stroller and not wanting me to stop for anything, just keep him moving, it was a bit of a bummer.  I feel awful saying that since it was his birthday and all but that how it is, I felt bummed out that there wasn't more fun.  And since i spent a chunk of the day pushing him in the stroller and not seeing him or interacting much with him (other than as a means of locomotion) and time driving to and from the zoo, when I was hugging him into bed I felt like I hadn't seen him all day.  I wanted to keep him up and play with him and love on him a bit, but it was 9 already and we had to get up at 6am this morning for my damn 8am class.  So be it, school will be out soon and I'll keep him out of daycare for a couple weeks this summer and spend some good time with him.

In other news, I have my truck!  I love it very much.  However, it's taking some time to get the title into my name.  We tried to do it over a week ago but it turns out the credit company Jeanell had her loan with never released the lien on it even though it has been two years since it was paid off.  So there is red tape to follow and hoops to jump through to get it done.  And it must be done by May 2nd.  That is the court date I got from a very nice state trooper last Tuesday when I was informed that the registration had been expired for over a year.  I was informed again, this morning before 7 am on the way to the daycare, by one of the Lawrenceburg officers.  I just want to get it done so I can stop getting pulled over.  Also you would think that the computer systems they use would have a common 'citations issued' and "pending" file or some such.  That way, when the city cop pulled me over this morning he could see that , yes I was pulled over by the troopers last Tuesday and informed of the infraction, and yes I already have court date deadline to meet, and there is no need to issue me another citation with another court date for the May 15th.  As long as I get everything transfered to my name and get the registration up to date before May 2nd it all goes away (granted i take all the paperwork and show it to the county attorney), it shouldn't cost me anything.  If I have to go to court I may be fined and have to pay court costs, too damn much.  Jeanell is usually a very responsible person and all her ducks are in a relatively straight line.  But since she got the red car and the truck was not being driven very much she didn't bother re-registering it (or pay the property tax I guess, and that better not come back to bite me in the ass).  Makes sense, but she could have warned me or told me or something.  I'm just very glad it's not going to cost me any money (so far) o get it cleared up.  I can do all the registering and title transfer and expunging of my record in the same trip as the offices are across the hall from each other at the court house.

Oh well.
