titles, stupid machines, and rain...

The saga of the  new truck is almost at an end.  I finally got ahold of the credit company and they are going to fax a copy and mail a copy of the lien release to the county clerk's office, the taxes have been paid, and hopefully on Thursday I can get it registered into my name and be done with it. * crosses fingers*... Tomorrow is the begining of the design competition and it's gonna suck, badly.  Our machine is not going to work and as far as I can tell most of the other groups are in the same boat.  Design by intuition is never good.  Math first then design.  I spent about 7 hours on Sunday making some wooden gears for this silly thing and Philip says they aren't giong to work.  They may not lift the gallon of water but if they are properly held and spaced they spin okay as they don't mesh perfectly.  I learned a bit more about actually making gears than I knew before and the next time I can do it better.  Sadly we are out of time for this project and I can't make a new set of better gears.  *sighs* I just hope that Philip (a guy in my design group who fancies himself prettty smart and is sort of the group leader) appreciates just how much work I have put into this fucking project.   He's the only other person who has put almost as much out-of-group-meeting time into it as I have.  I think when I saw him today he was just really frustrated that it was not going as well as we wanted it to and was bristly.
The wooded gears were my idea, but no one was coming up with anything better after our first attempt failed.  oh well......

I got the first half of the garden planted, carrots, beets, turnips, and cabbages (green and red)!  I have my tomato plants in the house staying warm and not too wet until it's time to plant them.  My herbs that I planted in pots in the kitchen window are doing well and soon I'll transplant some horseradish from dad's house.  Oh, I LOVE horseradish!  It makes me happy to think that I'll have some of my own.

Time to put the kid into bed.

Night night.
