I need some encouragement. I know this is the wrong place to go, because I only have a couple of friends who read it, but I don't have anywhere else to go where work people won't see it

The job sounds a bit sucky, but you have a good boss, and good bosses are hard to come by. - Is there a different job within the company you could transfer to? - Any chance of shifting some of the work to a co-worker?
On the bright side, if you decide to talk to your boss, all you need to do is tweak this.
The job itself doesn't suck. I enjoy it more than any job I've ever had. It has a lot of perks that are right up my alley, and usually isn't as big a deal.
But it is physically demanding and I feel like I'm to the point to where I've given more than I have, if you know what I mean.
I've been talking with my boss about it, and he is trying to shift some workload around to take some machines off me. He's afraid if he does too much then later, when we aren't as slammed, I will no longer qualify for full-time status. At this point, I don't really care. But he does have a point.

Are there other ways to use your talents during slow times? It seems to me a smart, perfectionist who catches small details would be a great addition to any department.
Yeah, he's great. I am pretty lucky in that regard.
When I first hired on, the third party company screwed up the background check. I was to be fired. (I had been a contract employee before, which is the only reason I had been working before the full background check.) My boss wrote them a letter of reference on my behalf and told them that if they let me go they may as well go ahead and cut the entire team, including him. Made me feel good! I was still fired, until my appeal went through and I proved the third party company was at fault.
I don't know what to say. *hugs tighter*
