I made a bit more progress on my dress this weekend. I made the outside layer of the bodice and then boned it. (That means I put strips of plastic-y stuff in the seams so the dress will support itself rather than relying on the straps, but it's more fun to phrase it the other way.) I also made the inside layer of the skirt and cut out the blue pieces.
Prewashing fabric is kind of a pain when you have to pay for each wash and dry. Especially when one type of fabric is colored, so it needs to be washed separately, and after washing one piece of white fabric I realized I forgot the other white piece and had to wash it separately too. If I had my own washer and dryer, I could have saved $6.00. I think washer/dryer are going on the list of stuff my next apartment should have. Along with grounded outlets and a dishwasher.
Stephen and I found a really good restaurant this weekend. It's called Desert Fire Southwestern Grill, and it's out at Redmond Town Center. They had some of the best strawberry lemonade I've ever tasted, and the meal was fantastic. It was even great as leftovers the next day. It's on the same price level as Outback Steakhouse, but with more than just steaks. Looked like they had some decent vegetarian options too. And they had a huge firepit in the center of the room. I'll definitely go back.
Stephen finally got a chance to get me a gift for Valentine's Day this weekend. (Yes, he had permission to be this late.) He got me a board game called Rumis. Basic idea is everyone has a pile of blocks and you try to build some sort of structure (a tower, a staircase, a pyramid, or a wall) with them. It looks like a lot of fun, but haven't had a chance to play it yet. Will have to do so as soon as Stephen gets a free hour. Which sounds like it will be in 2-3 weeks.
