"Aren't you nervous?"
Fuck no, she wasn't nervous. It may have been her first public fight; she may have been the only female gladiator to make it past basic training, but she wasn't nervous - she had the blood of the God of War flowing through her veins. She was made for this.

So he was Duke Anders' spymaster, which was a good life, all things considered. Ostensibly, he was protecting him from the interests of his enemies - in actuality, mostly what he did was search the country high and low for his lord's lost love.
Instead he found a little ghost of a boy, hard-edged but soft as butter on the inside, and there was something about him that was distressingly familiar - enough that Alain took him back to the castle with him, set him up in the staff under Rosemary, and was thoroughly shocked when he realized that the familiarity was because Lark looked just like the Duke himself.

Jess had to sit down. She had to. There was too much - too many emotions, too many feelings. She stared across the room - pretty Eddie, proper Eddie, her hair still done up and pinned at the back of her head because she felt like leaving it down was too intimate; staring up into the human's face with those huge gold goo-goo eyes and love pouring out of her like a waterfall.
Jess felt a small hand squeeze on her shoulder and she looked up, grateful. "Thanks, Al," she whispered, and her lover leaned down to peck her on the lips.
Alistair Cullen was the most gorgeous creature in the world. Objectively, Jess knew that that wasn't true - Ross was way too fond of his looks but fuck, he was a handsome sonova. Jess just preferred her pretty, edgy, flamboyant boy. Ali was the one everyone thought was gay, and here he was, with Jessica. Probably the most feminine, except maybe Eddie. Shyest, for sure. But Ali could draw her right out of her shell with one eyeliner-rimmed wink ( ... )

Wow, okay, wow, he should probably stop thinking it but he couldn't - wow. The new Captain was like something out of a dream, built and black-haired and beautiful sea-green eyes, and Leo wanted to jump his bones harder than he'd ever wanted anything in his life. Next to him, Jason snorted and shoved him hard in the ribcage with a muscled elbow, but what did he know? Maybe Captain Jackson had a thing for Basque boys. Long shot, but maybe. That was the fun part, the way he didn't know ( ... )

His eyes tracked the boy's movements, from table to table. He probably shouldn't be thinking of him like that - boy - but even when he was full grown, he would still look like a 'boy', probably. With that ass and those eyes? Yeah, definitely. Harry could think of a few things he wanted to do with the former; a few things he wanted to do with the latter, too, which surprised him. Like maybe, stare into them for hours on end. Have them focused on him and only him. Watch them as they dilated with arousal.
"Hazz. Snap out of it. You missed your cue, like, twice."
He shook his head, swept his hair to the side and nodded, getting back to what he'd come here for - singing - but his eyes didn't stop as the waiter with the blue eyes kept on moving.
