Lost My Cool at OW Team
The subcaptain (Gins) messaged me directly at noon on Wednesday to say "Hey, we haven't forgotten about you. We don't want to leave you out, and we want to keep you on because you've been so reliable and a great friend, but we need to figure out the best way to include you."
Then I looked at the team chat channel and noticed that the roster for Thursday - allegedly set to prioritize helping me rank up - didn't include me. It included the Plat people. Set for 7pm-10pm Central.
Awesome. A three hour session full of Plat people on a day that is supposed to be set to prioritize helping me climb, on top of poor communication and ignoring my pleas last Sunday to include me in the loop. I pretty much exploded at him during my lunch hour.
Me: Wait, why not have me run initially on Thursday since most of the newcomers/subs are on Central? 8est is their 7cst anyway, I'd log off and you guys could still run comp from 8-10cst. That way they could get to know me, you guys could get me in, and they could still figure out which comps to run alongside me.
Gins: It's not a priority at the moment, we are trying to weed out who may be toxic and who doesn't fit well.
Me: I get that you guys are trying to figure out new synergies and methods of communication, but why don't I get a say?
Gins: We haven't even run comp yet with the new subs. We have ten people. More than enough for one team but not enough to run two. I'm just reaching out so that you know you're still being included in the plan.
Me: (seriously getting aggravated) You say it runs 7pm-10pm cst three days a week, Thursday being the off-day. Why wasn't I allowed to have a say or given the option to join on Thursday for an hour?
Gins: You do have a say and I understand you're upset. Unfortunately it isn't a priority right now, getting everyone else up to speed currently is.
Yeah. Salty, aggravated, fearing I'm on the chopping block, and getting bitter every time I notice they're running comp/scrim nights.
