My first time getting mad at a customer service representative

Today I did something I thought I never would, I got mad at a customer service representative over the phone. Actually I broke a record I got mad at 3 different ones and even demanded to speak with a manager but with good reason.

Essentially in December I noticed my cell phone bill was higher than normal. I checked my statement over and saw I had been charged by some gay text message service called Star Secrets. I had remembered getting a random text from them and texting STOP like you're suppose to. It obviously didn't work. I called the number of the company that was on my bill and the number came up as a disconnected number which struck me as odd. I called it again a few times and one of the times oddly enough it went through and gave me the option to cancel the subscription. In March I noticed I was still getting charged for it. Sometimes I ignore my statements, but when I saw the charge was still there in march I was livid. I went to my local Rogers store in the mall here and the guy there told me there was nothing they could do for me and to try calling Rogers. So I went home and called Rogers. I was told the charge was from a third party and they could not give me my money back or take the charge off. I asked to have the number blocked so they couldn't text me so they did. I assumed that would fix my problem, if they couldn't text me I couldn't be charged right?

Today I looked at my statement and saw I was charged again. I pretty much flipped out. This Star Secrets is a known Scam, and I hadn't even signed up for it. I called Rogers and the first person I spoke with was not helpful. I explained the situation and she kept telling me there was no 10 dollar charge on my bill. I assured her there was and I was looking at a hard copy of my bill right in my hands. She kept arguing with me saying there was no 10 dollar charge. I finally read out the company name and number and she immediately said "That is a third party purchase, we cannot refund that" I explained to her I was being scammed and they were illegally charging me and I understood I had to pay what was on my bill but I wanted all further charges to be blocked. She then just repeated what she had just said, that she couldn't refund me my money and Rogers had nothing to do with them. I told her I understood that but I wanted their ILLEGAL charges to be stopped. She said I had to text them STOP or call them to cancel and speak to a person. I told her I had done all that and it didn't work because I was being scammed. She said she could not help me. I started to get mad, I think she could hear it in my voice because she transferred me to tech support.

The woman at tech support said she had no idea why I was transferred to her because she could not help me but she knew what my issue was and would transfer me to someone and tell them how to fix my issue. The douche bag I got pissed me off so bad. He said he couldn't help me, he said I had to text them or call them and get it cancelled. I told him over and over again it was a scam and I was being illegally charged and that I had tried numerous times to cancel the service and get a hold of someone and every time I did it sent me to a disconnected number or I got hung up on. He said that was the only option I had. So I pretty much got rude and said "So You're saying you can't help me? You're telling me I have to pay 10 extra bucks to a company scamming me for the rest of my contract even if what they are doing to me is illegal." And he basically said yes, I started threatening to cancel my service with Rogers. He said I could change my number and that was my only option. I got so mad I hung up on him.

I tried calling that scam company back and trying to get a hold of an actual person, every time I hit to option to speak to someone the line went dead. I kept calling it and I kept getting a dead line. I finally called Rogers back and immediately said I wanted to speak to a manager. The person asked me why and I explained to them, I was pretty mad at this point, I was aware I was kind of being a bitch to the girl I was speaking to but I was kind of worked up. She offered to call the number and try and get a hold of someone. I figured why not. I had been trying all morning. Literately 20 seconds later she comes back saying she got through to someone, I was actually more full or rage at the fact she got through after only 10 seconds of trying and I had been trying for months to get a hold of someone from that fucking company. She transferred me over to them and I started speaking to some asshole who could barely speak English and actually sounded pissed that I was speaking to him. I gave him my number and he said I opted to unsubscribe today and that I was unsubscribed. I informed him I had tried unsubscribing several times over the last few months and he got defensive and said there was no record of me doing that. He told me I was not getting my money back I had been paying them. I could have freaked out solid at him for that but I pretty much just forced him to guarantee me that it was cancelled. I just wanted to know it was finally cancelled, he assured me it was. So I thanked him bitchily and hung up.

What pisses me off is half the time the number didn't work when I dialed it and EVERYTIME I got through and tried to speak to a person it hung up on me. I am convinced that they have cellphone company numbers on record so when they call them they will answer the calls just to cover their asses. There is no other way to explain it.

God help them all if I get charged on my next bill. I won't even bother calling rogers I will file a formal complaint with the Office of the President. Which is what I was told to do by a friend of mine who used to work for Rogers. He told me they have the ability to block charges made by third party billings, he said they will rarely do it though.
