That's...quite a bit more snow than I was led to believe we'd be getting. The weatherfolk better be correct about everything warming up and turning to rain overnight. I'm okay with it for tonight, but I have a flamingo to nanny in the morning, and the cats are almost out of food.

I had every intention of going to the zoo for my shift today. The route there (and I have several options) is mostly on arterials, which are largely okay at this point, and I figured as long as I was careful and could get out of the immediate neighborhood (which is the worst part) I could make it there and back. Snow Leopard Day is over and all in all it was pretty decent. ( Zoo blather, cut for length )

I survived the first day of Heatwave PacNW 2010 with minimal trauma. I even went to flamenco and made it through an entire class (though I don't know that I could have done that if I'd had zoo morning yesterday as well, so under the circumstances I'm glad I didn't).
