The last few weeks have been pretty stressful. I started school on the 17th, which ment I had less time to do all the crap that needs to get done for the move that was supposed to be Dec 12 and I'm still going to physical therapy.
Luckily, my foot is doing better from the door incident. Primary Care finally sent me to Orthopedic Podiatry because they "expected better improvement over this long of a time" and did all "they were able to do". I'm happy with this decision, it's the best one they've had in a long time. Hopefully now that I'm going somewhere with people who have a clue my foot will actually get better. I went to my ortho appointment and the doctor said I'm making great progress and told me to continue therapy and come back in 6 weeks. If I'm still not better, she's going to do some thing to see if I have stress fractures that the MRI missed. But she gave me more naproxin for when I come home. At physical therapy, they took away my cane so I can try to walk more normal. I'm feeling way more positive about my foot now.
I got a 93.97% on my first test and I'm tied for first. The next test is on Monday.
For Thanksgiving I went to Pheonix to visit my brother and some of his friends who live out there. The day before we left (my friend Glover drove us) I got a call from housing that there was a problem. The current tenents decided to stay an additional 15 days so I couldn't move in until the 23rd, when I'm on leave. My leasing agent said I could either move in on the 5th when I came back, or I could get a different house. I love the address I got and I don't want to change it, so Eric said we could just move in on the 5th. That ended up being the best decision ever. Now we don't have to pay for 3 weeks of December which saves us $1200 and the $250 we get in Jan (it's prorated) will go to us staying in a hotel for the weekend until we can move in. Now we can afford to move the car out here. Oh, and I don't have to move out of the barracks until after leave and stay in a huge empty house by myself with stairs I have trouble getting up and down. I'll post my address once I move in and can recieve mail there.
Pheonix was a lot of fun. We drove out to Yuma, AZ where my brother is stationed and that took like 4 hours. We got stuck in traffic and then the rain. But it was so cool, we were going over the Colorado River, and this semi-truck jackknifed and the back was hanging over the side of the bridge and the front smashed completely through the concrete highway divider and threw chunks of concrete everywhere. We didn't see it actually happen, but we got there right after, because we were pretty close when we slammed on the breaks and the driver was just getting out of the truck. Then, when we got on base we found out that they don't have a drainage system and we drove through a river on the street - the water was almost up to the windows, it was so cool. We got out at the parking lot across from the barracks and the water kept getting deeper as we walked - all the way up to my knees. We were all still soaked by the time we finally got to Pheonix, which took alomost another 4 hours because of the rain.
The guys there have a 3 bedroom apartment and 5 people live there, but I think there might be a 6th roommate. I played a lot of Rockband, I'm not too bad at the drums (I can use my left foot for the pad) and I learned how to play beer pong. I got to spend a lot of time with my brother and we had a lot of fun. I was kinda glad to get back to base though, the apartment was a total mess and they said they did a lot of cleaning before we got there. Scary.
Two more weeks until I come home!
