It was Taro’s turn at the Vet today.
She’s down from 26 pounds to 13 which is great.
But, shes developed a heart murmur since her last visit =\ there’s a chance this may never affect her but if she shows any signs then we have to get her right in. She also needs to have a couple teeth extracted….and if you’ve had cats then you know how crazy expensive dental is…
She’s on antibiotics for now and some painkillers, until we can get her the surgery. They quoted us at over $1300, but we are forgoing some heart tests which would be performed before which cost $355. That brings the cost down to almost $800.
She had some basic blood work done today and they called back about that a little while ago saying it wasn’t what they wanted to see, her kidneys are not filtering as well as they should be…but given her age, this can happen. It could be caused by a kidney or bladder infection, so I will need to pick her up something from the drugstore tomorrow which will help as well as try to encourage her to drink lots.
I’m will be doing photo’s for anyone that wants them done, with all the money going towards her surgery/meds.
